Quick Start Guide

Electronic gadgets often come with a Quick Start Guide, also known as, “If you won’t read the instruction manual, at least read this one page, you lazy bum, before you break something.”

SO... if you don’t want to read all of this lovely yet annoying web site, here’s the minimum you need to know to have fun on the ride*

When Is the Ride

Saturday April 20, 2019

How Long Is It?

There are five routes -- your choice:

20 miles • 35 miles • 50 miles • 70 miles • 100 miles

How Do I Register?

There’s ONLY one way -- click here

How Much Does It Cost?

Kids 12 and younger ride free.

Ride Fee: $125

Optional r/t transport from Manhattan: $70

Where is the Start/Finish Line? How do I Get There?

The ride starts and finishes in the same place -- the back parking lot behind the Fisher Performing Arts Center:

You can get driving directions here.

If you are using your GPS you can set it for:

Robbins Road and Manor Avenue

Annandale-on-Hudson, NY

For mysterious reasons, some GPS units think that intersection is in Red Hook, NY. If that’s what pops up on your GPS, no problem -- go for it.

What Time Should I Show Up?

If you are getting to the start line on your own:

Check-in is from 8 a.m. - 9:30 a.m. You start to pedal whenever you're ready.

If you are taking our optional transportation for your bike and you from Manhattan to the ride and back:

5:30 a.m. sharp (Yes, it’s too early. Yes, we’re nuts.)

W. 33rd Street between 11th Ave and 12th Ave

VITAL: Everyone MUST be off the route no later than 6 p.m. That means that if you are pedaling one of the longer routes or if you’re just a rider who likes to take their time, you should be checking in right at 8 a.m. so you have time to finish the ride.

If you want to do the escorted version of the ride

Meet at the Bard College start line at 9:00 a.m. If you take our optional transportation from NY we’ll be sure to wait for you.

Anything Special I Need to Know?

We ride rain or shine -- no rain date.  We do offer optional rain insurance if you wish.

Helmets mandatory

Free showers after the ride - bring a towel, soap, and change of clothes

That’s it!

*A friendly note from Glen, your tour director and humble servant who loves you no really.  If you decide to just read this one page and skip the rest of the web site, that’s cool... see you on the ride!

If anyone emails to state:

“I read the one-page summary, but how come there wasn’t any info on [some topic that is covered clearly in excruciating detail elsewhere on this web site]?”

...that person will be immediately transferred to our help desk in Bangalore, India.

Of course if you DO read the web site, or at least TRY, and STILL can’t find the info you want, by all means drop us a note! I’m always glad to hear from you and will answer your question personally.

OK?  OK!
